Quick answer
Short answer: Questrade is great for tracking, but not yet for automated copy execution. RelayTrades connects brokers through SnapTrade, and SnapTrade currently supports Questrade in read-only mode only, so it cannot place orders in a Questrade account. That means you can connect Questrade to follow strategies, watch signals in real time, and see your portfolio, but copied trades cannot route into Questrade automatically. For hands-off copy trading, use an execution-enabled broker such as Webull, Charles Schwab, tastytrade, Alpaca, Public, Tradier, TradeStation, E*TRADE, Wealthsimple, or Moomoo. You can still act on signals in Questrade by placing the trades yourself.

If you use Questrade and want to copy trade, here is the honest answer: Questrade is a solid, low-cost Canadian brokerage, but automated copy execution is not available on it through RelayTrades yet. RelayTrades routes orders through SnapTrade, and SnapTrade currently supports Questrade as a read-only connection, so it can read your account but cannot place orders in it. Here is what you can and cannot do, and the brokers that do support hands-off copying.
What you can do with Questrade today
- Connect Questrade read-only through SnapTrade to track your portfolio and positions inside RelayTrades.
- Follow the traders and strategies you want and see their signals in real time.
- Act on those signals yourself by placing the trades manually in your Questrade account.
What is not supported yet
Because SnapTrade does not offer order placement for Questrade, RelayTrades cannot automatically route copied trades into a Questrade account. Automated, hands-off copy execution and server-side order routing are not available on Questrade. This is a SnapTrade brokerage limitation, not a RelayTrades policy, and it can change if Questrade trading support is added later.
Brokers that do support automated copy execution
If you want copies to route into your own account automatically within the risk limits you set, connect an execution-enabled broker instead: Webull, Charles Schwab, tastytrade, Alpaca, Public, Tradier, TradeStation, E*TRADE, Wealthsimple, or Moomoo. On these, matching orders route into your own account, your funds never leave your broker, and you keep the sizing, the risk controls, and a one-tap kill switch.
Questrade works for tracking and following strategies, but automated copy execution is not supported on it yet through SnapTrade. For hands-off copying, use an execution-enabled broker such as Webull, Charles Schwab, tastytrade, or Alpaca.
What to keep in mind
Broker support through SnapTrade changes over time, so check the current list before you connect. Copy trading does not change the nature of trading risk: the trader you follow can lose money, and so can you. RelayTrades is automation software and is not affiliated with or endorsed by Questrade. Past performance is not indicative of future results.
